Now Is The Time

“Now is the time! For the Lord said, “I have chosen David to save my people Israel from the hands of the philistines and from all their other enemies” 2 Samuel 3:18

The lord highlighted this verse to me during prayer for this season. Like David, many of God’s people have been waiting so long for God’s promises to be fulfilled in their lives. As a young boy, David was anointed king over Israel by Samuel (1 Samuel 16). But this was the start of a long waiting journey. Although David won the battle against the Philistines and killed Goliath, he continued to run away from Saul who became jealous of him. His dreams of being king faded further and further. Eventually, Saul died, but David was still waiting to be king. He had gone through so much trauma, that he found it hard to discern that his time was Now. In 2 Samuel, God’s send David’s enemy (Abner, the commander of Saul’s army) to speak with the elders of Israel and convince them that David’s time has arrived. It is time for David to be king over Israel. David was ecstatic with joy, that he danced before the lord with all his might (2 Samuel 6:14).

As I was in prayer, I heard God say, that “Now is the time for long waited promises to be fulfilled”. The waiting period is over. It’s time to grab hold of the promises God promised us. To claim our God given inheritance, which Christ has paid for. This will happen effortlessly, as we move forward in faith, and trust God. When David received this revelation, he moved in faith, and was anointed king over Israel. It’s time for the bride of Christ to move and lead the way of the coming revival. I am reminded of the bride in the Song of Solomon, who realized her time is now. With His full approval, she tells her groom, “I will lead you and bring you into my mother’s house” (Song of Solomon 8:2). She is ready, and she is on the move to receive all her groom has for her. As the bride of Christ, this needs to be our condition. We are ready, and our time is now.

Many pray to have the faith of Abraham, who believed that God is able to give life to the dead and call those things which do not exist as though they do (Romans 4:17). Against all hope, Abraham believed in hope that he would become a father to many nations (Romans 4:18). The biggest challenge is to believe that, “Now is the time”. Many find it easier to wait, and believe for the future, but find it hard to believe that the time is Now. Many are stuck in their past, and are holding onto hurt and pain, while others are focusing on their present circumstances. However, the Lord is calling the bride, to believe what no eye has seen, and no ear has heard, has been prepared for those who love the lord (1 Corinthians 2:9). With this promise in mind, the bride of Christ, must discern the times and the season. We must operate in our God given authority, and take by faith, what belongs to us.
